Many MLB teams are finding themselves already dealing with adversity today. And since today is Opening Day, it is that much more significant.

Injuries to key players across the league have managers scrambling for solutions. It’s an unfortunate part of the game, and this season it will be playing a major role on opening day.

With players such as: M. Latos, A. Chapman, C.Janssen, M.Bourn, C.Kershaw, Y. Darvish, M. Machado, C. Hamels, K. Medlen, H Iwakuma, J. Profar. J.Johnson, M. Kemp, T.Walker, D.Fister, and M.Minor starting the season on the disabled list, teams are looking to their benches and the waiver wires for their next man up.

As most managers will tell you, it’s not the best way to start a 162-game season with some of your best players injured. Especially when it’s your number one starter who can’t go.

Many experts will inevitably revisit the lengths of Spring Training and the longevity of the regular season for possible solutions to prevent such injuries.

However, until changes are made to either, this will continue to be a problem in MLB.
